Fax (407) 296-2758 <br /> <br />January 18, 2007 <br /> <br />RECEIVED <br /> <br />f JIM 2 3 ~L <br /> <br />rJllPllC 'NnPlS .J.J <br />:" v~j._1 . ~_\!__""~_'-:_'_-.::::.___.____.~__ <br /> <br />City of Casselberry <br />Mr. Ed Torres, M.S., P.E. <br />Public \Volks Directur <br />95 Triplet Lake Drive <br />Casselberry, Florida 32707 <br /> <br />Dear Mr. Torres, <br /> <br />Pursuant to the terms and conditions of the agreement between the City of Casselberry and <br />Republic Services of Florida, LP, I would respectfully request the city's consideration of <br />granting an adjustment to the solid waste and recyclable collections services as outlined in <br />Exhibit 2 of the Solid Waste and Recyclable Collection Service Agreement. <br /> <br />Based on the information provided in the documents included in this correspondence, which <br />includes information from the Department of Labor Bureau of Labor Statistics Consumer <br />Price Index for South urban, I have made the following calculations as they pertain to the <br />directions provided in Exhibit 2: <br /> <br />· 50% of the percentage change in CPI, All Urban Consumers, South Urban, All Items <br />would be 1.25% <br />· 10% ofthe percentage change in CPI, All Urban Consumers, South Urban, Gasoline <br />(all types) would be .46% <br />· The total adjustment to all rates listed in the agreement is 1.71 % <br /> <br />This adjustment changes the current rate of $8.69 per home per month to $8.84 per home per <br />month. The rate basis for this adjustment includes the service charge for garbage, recycling, <br />and yard waste and excludes the disposal charge. Additionally, the service charge for <br />additional trash and vegetative waste (per yard) changes from $7.31 per yard to $7.44 per <br />yard. <br /> <br />For your convenience, I have attached a schedule for the various services and the associated <br />rates schedules, as well as the appropriate schedules from the U.S. Department of Labor <br />Bureau of Labor Statistics. While we recognize the city commission has 45 days to review <br />and approve this request, we respectfully request this proposed adjustment be effective <br />
