<br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY,
<br />FLORIDA, AMENDING THE CITY CODE OF ORDINANCES,
<br />CHAPTER 62, PERSONNEL POLICIES, ARTICLE XIII,
<br />SECTION 62.1201 (d)(I); AMENDING THE DEFINITION OF
<br />IMMEDIATE FAMILY; PROVIDING FOR CODIFICATION,
<br />CONFLICTS, SEVERABILITY AND AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the City Commission has determined that the definition of the term "immediate
<br />family" in Chapter 62, Personnel Policies, should be expanded to include the employee's half-brother,
<br />half-sister, grandfather, grandmother, and legal guardian; and
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the City Commission believes that these relatives are an integral part of an
<br />employee's immediate family and, therefore, should be included in the definition provided under
<br />Chapter 62 Article XIII Section 62.1201 (d)(1); and
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, words with underlined type shall constitute additions to the original text and stfiI<e
<br />tMSHgR shall constitute deletions to the original text.

<br />NOW, THERFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
<br />OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
<br />
<br />SECTION I. The Code of Ordinances of the City of Casselberry, Florida, Chapter 62,
<br />Article XIII, Section 62.1201 (d)(1) is hereby amended to read as follows:

<br />Chapter 62 Personnel, Article XIII, Section 62.1201 (d)(I).
<br />
<br />(d) BEREAVEMENT LEAVE - An employee may be granted, upon approval of the
<br />Department Director, bereavement leave with pay not to exceed four consecutive
<br />working days in the event of death of immediate family.
<br />
<br />(I) The employee's immediate family shall be defined as the employee's spouse,
<br />father, mother, son, daughter, brother, sister, half-brother. half-sister, grandfather.
<br />grandmother. grandson. granddaughter, father-in-law, mother-in-law, son-in-law,
<br />daughter-in-law, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, stepfather, stepmother, Y:aras,
<br />stepson, stepdaughter, stepbrother, stepsister, granaaoH, Elr granaalillghter, wards.
<br />and legal guardian.
<br />
<br />SECTION II. CODIFICATION. It is the intention of the City Commission of the City of
<br />Casselberry, Florida, and it is hereby ordained that the provisions of this Ordinance shall become and be
<br />made a part of the code of Ordinances of the City of Casselberry, Florida; that the Section of this
<br />Ordinance may be renumbered or re-Iettered to accomplish such intention; that the word, "Ordinance"
<br />may be changed to "Section," "Article," or other appropriate word.
