Hufford to approve the Agenda for <br />November 30, 2006 as amended. Motion was seconded by Commissioner <br />Jon Miller and carried on a 4 - 0 vote. <br /> <br />6. City Mana!!er Recruitment - Selection of Finalists for On-Site Interviews <br /> <br />Mr. Miller stated that the schedule for recruitment of the new City Manager has been expedited. The <br />employment advertisement for the new City Manager was posted on October 12, 2006, with a closing <br />date of November 17,2006 for receipt of applications. He said it was assumed that the City would pay <br />for expenses of the candidate and spouse, i.e. travel/airfare, three nights lodging, a rental car and <br />expenses for food during the interview process. The interview process will begin on Friday morning, <br />December 15, 2006 with the Commission as a group interviewing each candidate separately at a <br />scheduled public hearing and a reception that evening is also scheduled for the Commission, candidates <br />and invited guests. On Saturday Morning, December 16, 2006, a one-on-one interview with each <br />candidate will be scheduled for each Commissioner. There will be scheduled tours for the candidates on <br />Friday and Saturday mornings. A Special Commission will be scheduled for December 18, 2006 for <br />selection of the new City Manager. The starting salary was advertised at a maximum of$140,000. The <br />Standard Employment Agreement of the ICMA will be used as a model for the Employment Contract. <br />The tentative Employment Contract should be ready for approval by the Commission at a subsequent <br />meeting, possibly December 20, 2006. <br /> <br />The following resumes for the Semi-Finalists for the City Manager position were presented to the <br />Commission by Mr. Miller as follows: <br /> <br />1. Lester Baird, Sr., County Administrator for Hendry County, Florida; population 39,000; in the <br />position since 1996. <br /> <br />2. Bob Bartolotta, Former City Manager of Jupiter, Florida; population 45,000, retired in 2004 to <br />care for terminally ill wife. Currently living in Savannah, GA where he was Assistant City <br />Manager from 1989 to 2004. <br /> <br />3. Larry Dee~en, City Manager of Deerfield Beach, Florida; population 77,000; he is leaving the <br />Deerfield Beach after having been in the position since 1994. <br /> <br />4. John Erar, Administrative Services Manager for U.S. Probation Office in Minneapolis, MN, been <br />in that position since 2004. Formerly Chief Administrative Officer in Andover, MN; <br />population 30,000 for approximately three years. <br /> <br />5. Mark Glover, President of the Government Performance Network, (GPN) and was Vice President <br />and Director of Research and Development for the Innovation Groups, Inc., a highly respected <br />organization of over 400 leading cities interested in modernizing service delivery to citizens. <br />Currently resides in Temple Terrace, Florida. <br />
