<br />RESOLUTION 06-1711 <br /> <br />"A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, ADOPTING <br />THE FINAL OPERATING MILLAGE RATE OF 5.00 MILLS FOR THE CITY OF <br />CASSELBERRY FOR THE FISCAL YEAR COMMENCING ON OCTOBER 1, 2006 <br />AND ENDING ON SEPTEMBER 30, 2007; ANNOUNCING THE PERCENT AGE BY <br />WHICH THE TENTATIVE OPERATING MILLAGE RATE EXCEEDS THE <br />ROLLED-BACK RATE; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING <br />FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE." <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Cassel berry, on September 25,2006, will approved <br />Fiscal Year 2006-2007 Final Millage Rate following a public hearing as required by Florida Statute 200.065; <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Cassel berry, will hold a public hearing as required <br />by Florida Statute 200.065; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the gross taxable value for operating purposes not exempt from taxation within <br />Seminole County has been certified by the Seminole County Property Appraiser to the City of Casselberry as <br />$1,408,530,440; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Casselberry desires to adopt the final operating <br />millage rate and publicly announce their percentage change by which the final operating millage rate exceeds <br />the rolled-back rate; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Casselberry deems that this Resolution is in the <br />best interest ofthe public health, safety, and welfare of the citizens of Casselberry. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE <br />CITY OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />SECTION I. Final Millal!:e Rate. The City Commission adopts its final operating millage rate of <br />5.00 mills for the fiscal year commencing October I, 2006 and ending September 30, 2007. <br /> <br />SECTION II. Rolled-Back Rate. The final operating millage rate of 5.00 mills is a 24.05 percent <br />increase from the computed rolled-back rate of 4.037 mills as certified by the Seminole County Property <br />Appraiser. <br /> <br />SECTION III. Notification to Seminole County. Within three (3) days of the date of this <br />Resolution, the City Clerk shall forward the Resolution adopting the final millage rate to the Seminole <br />County Property Appraiser and the Seminole County Tax Collector. <br /> <br />SECTION IV. Notification to the State of Florida. Within thirty (30) days of the date of this <br />Resolution, the City Clerk shall certifY compliance with Chapter 200, Florida Statutes by causing the <br />Certification of Compliance, along with all necessary documentation, to be sent to the Property Tax <br />Administration of the Department of Revenue. <br />
