City Commission Meeting January 23, 2006 Page 16 Community Redevelopment Al!encv (CRA) Kenneth Hoffman - Appointed by unanimous vote for his second term; effective to January 2009. 12. Commission Reports/Requests Comm issioner Doerner . Attended the Seminole County Community Redevelopment Agency Meetingand she will be bringing forth a report on the status of projects as they become available. Attended a meeting sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce regarding the friends of Lake Kathryn regarding the townhomes on Seminola.. . Stated that she was disappointed with the unprofessional and distasteful communications that had transpired between the Mayor and the City Manager. She complimented the City Manager on an excellent job. She said the communications were available in City Hall as a matterofpublic record. Commissioner Cook . Extended condolences to the Stenstrom Law Firm and Katie Reischmann on the passing of Mrs. Trish Colbert, Office Manager and wife of Bill Colbert, Partner in the Firm. Commissioner Hufford . Also extended condolences to the City Attorney on the passing of Ms. Colbert. . Attended the Seminole County Alliance Meeting which addressed the issue of displaced children. . Commented on the excellent article in the Orlando Sentinel on Sunday regarding the Unicorp Project. Commented for the record regarding communications from Lillian Selph regarding golf course. Disturbed by comments regarding absenteeism of Commissioner Doerner atthe City/County Meeting by Mayor Goff; she indicated that Commissioner Doerner had legitimate excuses for being absent. Attended the Annual Luncheon for Seminole Chamber of Commerce and was concerned and disturbed by the comments submitted in writing by Mayor Goff regarding the Community Redevelopment Agency. She suggested a possible Commission Workshop to address the CRA. Bothered by Mayor Goff's comments regarding code enforcement. Also addressed her disapproval of the communications that Mayor Goff had with the City Manager and the Mayor's verbal communications with staff. She read City Code, Section 2-38 regarding the authority of the City Commission and interference with the Administration. . Requested the Attorney review the ordinance regarding the responsibility for Agenda preparation. The City Manager stated that he would be satisfied with the Attorney reviewing the Agenda preparation policy, but the important thing is that the Manager have complete and unfettered opportunity to present the Agenda to the Commission as a whole and the Commission decide what should or should not be considered. Commisioner Hart CALNO Meeting will be hosted by the City of Casselberry on February 1, 2006.
