<br />RESOLUTION NO. 06-1657 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY, <br />FLORIDA, RELATING TO ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT, APPROVING AN <br />AGREEMENT BETWEEN BUXTON COMMUNITY ID AND THE CITY OF <br />CASSELBERRY; PROVIDING FOR PROFESSIONAL RESEARCH TO IDENTIFY <br />AND ASSIST IN PURSUING PRIVATE RETAILERS THAT WILL THRIVE AND <br />BENEFIT FROM CASSELBERRY'S UNIQUE MARKET DEMOGRAPffiCS, <br />AGREEING TO A FEE OF $40,000; AND PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS, <br />SEVERABILITY AND AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Casselberry City Commission has carefully considered a proposal from Buxton <br />Community lD to assess the City's potential to recruit and expand its retail sector; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Buxton Community lD has the unique capahility, using proprietary software, to identify <br />retailers who would be successful in the Casselberry market area; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, other communities that have heen clients of Buxton Community lD have expressed <br />their high degree of satisfaction and the cost~ffectiveness of Buxton's final product; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of the Casselberry City Commission to take all reasonahle steps to <br />improve the economic hase of the City for the general benefit of the citizens and businesses in Casselberry. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF <br />CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section I. The City Commission approves the attached agreement between Buxton Community lD and the <br />City of Casselberry in the amount of $40,000 (Exhibit A) and authorizes the Mayor to execute the agreement <br />on behalf of the City. <br /> <br />Section 2. Conflicts. All Ordinances or parts of Ordinances in conflict with any of the provisions of this <br />Ordinance are hereby repealed. <br /> <br />Section 3. Severability. If any Section or portion of a Section of this Ordinance proves to be invalid, <br />unlawful, or unconstitutional, it shall not be held to invalidate or impair the validity, force, or effect of <br />any other Section or part of this Ordinance. <br /> <br />Section 4. Effective Date.
