<br />EXHIBIT I <br />SCOPE OF SERVICES <br /> <br />1.1 General <br /> <br />The Engineer assisted the City to obtain a permit for subject project and the Engineer <br />prepared final designs, plans, specifications and contract documents for the Hunterfield <br />Road Storage and High Service Project as described in the original Contract. The <br />purpose of this Amendment is to define the services required during construction of the <br />project. The specific services to be provided for the project are shown. <br /> <br />1.2 Administration of Construction Services <br /> <br />The construction phase will commence with the award of the construction contract and <br />will terminate upon written approval of final payment by the Engineer. During the <br />construction phase, the Engineer will: <br /> <br />1.2.1 Advise and consult with the City and act as its representative. <br /> <br />1.2.2 Furnish three (3) additional copies of reports, permits and of drawings and Contract <br />Documents for use by the Contractor in performing the work. <br /> <br />1.2.3 Attend preconstruction conferences for the project. <br /> <br />1.2.4 Assist the OWNER and the contractor (through the Owner) in obtaining a building permit <br />from Seminole County. Provide assistance and signed and sealed drawings as required <br />to the Seminole County building department. Respond to questions initiated by the <br />building inspection department and directed to the City or contractor on the project. <br /> <br />1.2.5 Attend all monthly progress meetings for the project. Detailed minutes will be kept by the <br />Engineer. Six monthly progress meetings are anticipated. This is based on an eight <br />month contract. The first month is covered by the preconstruction meeting and the final <br />month is covered by the substantial and final completion inspections. <br /> <br />1.2.6 Make periodic visits to the site to observe the progress and quality of the executed work <br />and to determine, in general, if the work is proceeding on time and in accordance with <br />the Contract Documents. This will consist of one visit per week of approximately 3 <br />hours per visit. This will take place over six months of the normal construction schedule <br />as the first month is mobilization and the last month consists of completion of the <br />punch list items. Engineer will not be required to make exhaustive or continuous on-site <br />observations to check the quality or quantity of the work under this item; he will not be <br />responsible for the construction means, methods, techniques, sequences, or procedures <br />for the safety precautions incidental thereto; his efforts will be directed toward providing <br />additional assurance for the City that the complete project will substantially conform to <br />the requirements of the Contract Documents, but he will not be responsible for the <br />Contractor's failure to perform the construction work in accordance with the Contract <br />Documents; and during such visits and on the basis of his on-site observations as an <br />experienced and qualified design professional, he will keep the City informed on the <br />progress of the work, will endeavor to guard the City against defects and deficiencies in <br />
