<br />amount which was allowed to be taken into account hereunder as in effect on July I, 1993. "Eligible <br />employee" is an individual who was a Member before the first Plan Year beginning after December <br />31,1995. <br />Spouse means the lawful wife or husband of a Member or Retiree at the time benefits become <br />payable. <br />Svstem means the City of Casselberry Police Officers' and Firefighters' Pension Plan as <br />contained herein and all amendments thereto. <br />2. Masculine Gender. <br />The masculine gender, where used herein, unless the context specifically requires <br />otherwise, shall include both the feminine and masculine genders. <br />SECTION 62-482. MEMBERSHIP. <br />I. Conditions of Eligibilitv. <br />All Police Officers and Firefighters who are employed by the City on or after January <br />1, 1996 shall become Members of this System as a condition of employment. <br />Notwithstanding the previous paragraph, any Fire Chief or Police Chief may, within <br />sixty (60) days of his employment as the Police Chief or Fire Chief, notify the Board and the City, <br />in writing, of his election to not be a Member of the System. In the event of such election, any <br />Accumulated Contributions shall be returned to the Police Chief or Fire Chief and he shall be barred <br />from participation in the System. <br />2. Designation of Beneficiarv. <br />Each Police Officer and Firefighter shall complete a form prescribed by the Board <br />providing for the designation of a Beneficiary or Beneficiaries. <br />3. 01Jt In Window. The current Police Chief, may, within six (6) months of the effective <br />date of the ordinance adopting this subsection, elect to reenter the System and receive Credited <br />Service for all or a part of his time of employment with the City, provided that the Police Chief <br />contributes to the Fund the sum that he would have contributed had he been a Member of the System <br />for the years or fractional parts of years for which he is requesting credit, plus amounts actuarially <br />determined such that the crediting of service does not result in any cost to the Fund, plus payment <br /> <br />4 <br />
