<br />1. INTRODUCTION <br /> <br />This Urban Services Plan for the San Pedro Center property and adjacent area annexation <br />proposal has been prepared pursuant to the requirements established for annexations found in Florida <br />Statutes, Chapter 171.042. The documentation for this information was obtained from City <br />departments who provide municipal services, City departments involved in reviewing development and <br />fiscal impacts for the city, and City records. <br /> <br />II. APPLICABILITY <br /> <br />This annexation proposal is consistent with the provisions of Section 5, Article II ofthe Charter <br />of the City of Casselberry, Florida. <br /> <br />III. STATEMENT OF CERTIFICATION <br /> <br />Pursuant to Chapter 171.043, F.S., the area proposed for annexation meets the following <br />specific criteria: <br /> <br />. The area to be annexed is: a) contiguous to the municipal boundary, b) it is a reasonably <br />compact area, and c) it is not included within the boundary of any other municipality. <br /> <br />. The area is adjacent, on at least 60 percent of its external boundary, to a combination of the <br />municipal boundary and the boundary of an area or areas developed for mban purposes as <br />defined in §171.043(2). <br /> <br />IV. MAJOR MUNICIPAL SERVICES <br /> <br />A General Government Services <br />1. Fire ProtectionÆMS Service - The City of Casselberry currently provides fire <br />protection and Emergency Medical Service support throughout the community. <br />Current statistics indicate the Fire Department's average response time City- <br />wide is approximately 4 minutes. The Fire Department is currently surveying <br />property locations in the area of Howell Branch Road East of SR 436 to <br />construct a new fire station. This new facility will be ideally suited to meet the <br />FirelEMS response requirements for the San Pedro area. The annexation area <br />would be subject to at least the same level of service currently being provided <br />to other areas within the City. In addition to the proposed new station, service <br />is currently available from Station 25 on Red Bug Road. <br /> <br />2. Police Protection Service - The City of Casselberry currently provides police <br />protection throughout the community and to properties within the City limits <br />that are in the vicinity of the subject property. There has been continued <br />attention on the part of the City to maintaining high levels of service as the City <br />has grown. This is evidenced by the fact that major crimes were down in 2003 <br /> <br />- 1 - <br />
