RESOLUTION 13-2473 <br />"A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, <br />APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF <br />THE INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT FOR THE SHARED <br />DISTRIBUTION OF THE SIX CENT LOCAL OPTION MOTOR <br />FUEL AND DIESEL FUEL TAX BETWEEN SEMINOLE <br />COUNTY AND THE CITIES OF CASSELBERRY, ALTAMONTE <br />SPRINGS, LAKE MARY, LONGWOOD, OVIEDO, SANFORD, <br />AND WINTER SPRINGS; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS, <br />SEVERABILITY AND EFFECTIVE DATE." <br />WHEREAS, in 1983 Seminole County approved Ordinance 83-22 imposing a <br />county -wide four cent ($.04) fuel tax for a period of ten years to be used for <br />transportation expenditures; and <br />WHEREAS, in 1985 Seminole County amended the term of the four cent ($.04) <br />fuel tax to 30 years with an expiration date of August 31, 2013 and added an additional <br />two cent ($.02) fuel tax for 30 years to expire August 31, 2015; and <br />WHEREAS, in 1986, Seminole County provided an Interlocal Agreement to the <br />cities of Altamonte Springs, Casselberry, Lake Mary, Longwood, Oviedo, Sanford and <br />Winter Springs noting the method for distribution of the local option gas tax proceeds <br />among the County and the cities, which was approved by cities representing at least 50% <br />of the County's total population pursuant to State Statute; and <br />WHEREAS, the initial four cent ($.04) gas tax levy will expire on August 31, <br />2013 and Seminole County wishes to include the additional two cent ($.02) gas tax levy <br />to extend and impose a combined six cent ($.06) gas tax levy for an additional 30 years, <br />expiring August 31, 2043; and <br />WHEREAS, a new Gas Tax Ordinance will be considered by the Seminole <br />County Board of County Commissioners at their meeting on March 26, 2013 to levy and <br />impose the combined six cent ($.06) gas tax for defined transportation expenditures; and <br />WHEREAS, a re -stated Interlocal Agreement for the Shared Distribution of the <br />Six Cent Local Option Motor Fuel and Diesel Fuel Tax has been provided designating <br />how the proceeds from said levy will continue to be apportioned among the County and <br />the seven cities listed above to be used for defined transportation expenditures; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Manager and the Finance Director have reviewed said <br />Interlocal Agreement and recommend its approval <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF <br />THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: <br />
