City of Casselberry <br />Parks and Recreation Advisory Board <br />Regular Meeting—February 11, 2025 <br />Board Member Cody Highley moved to make Board Member Danielle Meyering, Vice Chair. <br />Motion was seconded by Board Member Neal Thomas. Motion carried unanimously 5-0 by <br />voice vote. <br />5. Approval of Minutes — September 10, 2024 <br />Board Member Danielle Meyering moved to approve the minutes of the September 10, 2024, <br />meeting as presented. Motion was seconded by Board Member Neal Thomas. Motion carried <br />unanimously 5-0 by voice vote. <br />6. Advisory Board Member Annual Training <br />City Clerk Donna Gardner led the annual Board Member training to include Sunshine Law, City <br />Code and public records. <br />7. Naming of Wheel Park I and II <br />Recreation Manager Linda Moore presented information regarding the proposed naming of <br />Wheel Park I and II to be Wheel Park East and Wheel Park West. <br />Upon conclusion of the presentation, Board Member LeAnn Nash opened the floor for <br />comments from the board. <br />Board Member Danielle Meyering inquired about age recommendations for the equipment for <br />each park to help identify the difference between the two parks. Recreation Manager Linda <br />Moore stated there will be signage to provide guidance on this. Additionally, Danielle Meyering <br />raised concern over utilizing the names East and West as park identifiers stating most people <br />are not necessarily clear on the Cardinal directions. She inquired if there was still an <br />opportunity to entertain any other clear naming for the two parks. Board Member Cody Highley <br />provided the example of naming the parks as 'Wheel Park Kids' and 'Wheel Park Advanced.' <br />Linda Moore responded that problems could arise as skill levels are not always based upon age <br />and neither park will have specific age restrictions. Board Member Janice Zeiger shared that she <br />'paused' when reading the name recommendation of East and West. Cody Highley asked if <br />there was a benefit to naming the parks now. Linda Moore responded per grant funding, there <br />is a park opening deadline and the name is needed for the opening and signage. Board Member <br />LeAnn Nash inquired if the signage would include age recommendations. Linda Moore <br />responded not necessarily as it will be more about skill level. Danielle Meyering inquired if both <br />parks will have their own address and how easily is it to go from one park to the other. Linda <br />Moore responded she believes they do have their own addresses but will confirm this and get <br />
