RESOLUTION 12-2379 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF <br />CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF A <br />COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT COOPERATION <br />AGREEMENT FOR CONTINUED PARTICIPATION OF THE CITY OF <br />CASSELBERRY AS ONE OF THE UNITS OF LOCAL GOVERNMENT WITHIN <br />SEMINOLE COUNTY FOR U.S. DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND URBAN <br />DEVELOPMENT (HUD) URBAN COUNTY QUALIFICATION; PROVIDING <br />FOR CONFLICTS, SEVERABILITY AND AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />WHEREAS, Seminole County has participated with the U.S. Department of <br />Housing and Urban Development (HUD) as an Urban County since 1986 for housing and <br />community development activities; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Casselberry has participated with Seminole County since <br />1986 and in 1994 entered into an automatically renewable cooperation agreement via <br />Resolution 94-843; and <br />WHEREAS, minor amendments to the 1994 cooperation agreement are <br />necessary in order to comply with HUD's requirements for this qualification period; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Casselberry wishes to continue to be included in the <br />Urban County and finds that participation in this program is in the best interest of the <br />citizens of Casselberry. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION <br />OF THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: <br />SECTION I. That the City Commission of the City of Casselberry hereby <br />approves the Community Development Block Grant Cooperation Agreement between the <br />City and Seminole County, and authorizes the Mayor to execute said agreement for and <br />on behalf of the City of Casselberry. <br />SECTION H. Conflicts. All Resolutions or pants of Resolutions in conflict with <br />any of the provisions of this Resolution are hereby repealed. <br />SECTION IH. Severability. If any Section or portion of a Section of this <br />Resolution proves to be invalid, unlawful, or unconstitutional, it shall not be held to <br />invalidate or impair the validity, force, or effect of any other Section or part of this <br />Resolution. <br />SECTION IV. Effective Date. This Resolution shall become effective <br />immediately upon its passage and adoption. <br />
