CASSELBERRY CITY COMMISSION <br />Minutes of January 13, 2025 — Regular Meeting <br />Page 6 of 8 <br />13. CITIZENS' COMMENTS <br />Mayor Henson announced that persons wishing to make comment or make inquiry on any matter not on <br />the agenda, may request to be recognized during Citizens' Comments. Mayor Henson announced the rules <br />of decorum. The following individual came forward: <br />Curt Schuster, 825 Woodstreann Lane, expressed concerns about what he felt were excessive <br />permit fees charged by the City for replacement of a water heater that had been required by his <br />insurance company. He shared information lie had gotten from researching permit fees for the <br />same type of work in surrounding cities and Seminole County, noting they were all much lower <br />than Casselberry, and expressed hope that the City would look into revising its permit fees to <br />make them less of a burden on the residents. <br />No one else came forward. <br />14. CITY MANAGER'S REPORT <br />Shared that staff was currently working with a consultant to completely revise the City's <br />permitting fees, and those would most likely move to a percentage of the value of the job <br />instead of a flat fee, as had been the issue with Mr. Schuster. He added that hopefully in the <br />future, those types of situations would be much improved with the changes being made. <br />15. CITY ATTORNEY'S REPORT <br />No report. <br />16. CITY CLERK'S REPORT <br />City Clerk Donna Gardner shared the following information: <br />City Hall and all City facilities will be closed Monday, January 20t1i in observance of Dr. Martin <br />Luther King, Jr. Day. <br />17. CITY COMMISSIONERS' REPORTS/COMMENTS <br />Commissioner Anthony Aramendia - Seat No. 1: <br />• Reported that the A Night of the Mystic Arts event had been held on Friday, January 10"' in <br />Lake Concord Park with assistance from Historic Casselberry, and that the event had been very <br />well attended. He added that the event had been mentioned in the Orlando Weekly, and on a <br />local radio station and lie was happy the event had received some recognition, and he looked <br />
