SEMINOLE COUNTY — CITY OF CASSELBERRY <br />TRAFFIC SIGNAL MAINTENANCE AGREEMENT <br />THIS AGREEMENT is entered into on the day ofLtbe, 2024, between <br />SEMINOLE COUNTY, a political subdivision of the State of Florida, whose address is Seminole <br />County Services Building, 1101 East First Street, Sanford, Florida 32771, in this Agreement referred <br />to as "COUNTY", and the CITY OF CASSELBERRY, a Florida municipal corporation, whose <br />address is 95 Triplet Lake Drive, Casselberry, Florida 32707, in this Agreement referred to as <br />"CITY". <br />WITNESSETH: <br />WHEREAS, Section 163.01, Florida Statutes (2024), authorizes local governmental units <br />to make the most efficient use of their powers by enabling them to cooperate with other localities <br />on a basis of mutual advantage and thereby to provide services and facilities in a manner (and <br />pursuant to forms of governmental organization) that will accord best with geographic, economic, <br />population, and other factors influencing the needs and development of local communities; and <br />WHEREAS, Florida law provides for interlocal agreements between cities and counties for <br />the performance of the respective administrative and service functions, and Chapter 125, Florida <br />Statutes (2024), grants counties broad home rule powers to perform acts in the public interest; and <br />WHEREAS, CITY and COUNTY recognize that there is a need to develop a coordinated <br />effort for the repair of certain traffic signals in order to facilitate traffic engineering and the safe and <br />efficient flow of traffic in Seminole County; and <br />WHEREAS, CITY and COUNTY desire to enter into a mutually beneficial relationship <br />whereby CITY will reimburse COUNTY for the maintenance costs of: <br />(a) Traffic signals located at the intersections of a county and city road within the <br />jurisdictional boundaries of the CITY. <br />Traffic Signal Maintenance Agreement <br />Seminole County / Casselberry <br />Page 1 of 13 <br />
