CASSELBERRY CITY COMMISSION Minutes of March 12, 2001 - Regular Meeting Page IS of 19 15. COMMISSION/STAFF REPORTS Commissioner Sheppard: • No report. Commissioner Clark: Requested that the City Commission discuss the matter regarding the MetroPlan request for support of a $2/day statewide car rental surcharge, prior to lending that support. Commissioner Hart: Inquired to the status of the ISO review. Mr. Schluckebier reported that the ISO inspectors were currently in the area conducting their assessment. Mr. Schluckebier noted that the last review was conducted in 1988 and since that time substantial upgrades to water lines, increases in hydrants, water pressure, pumping, staff training and participation in the First Response program would most likely result in a higher rating for the City. Noted she enjoyed participating in the Rock Around the Block 5k Run and commended the Parks & Recreation Department staff for their efforts. Vice Mayor Henson: • Voiced concerns regarding an abundance of street light outages throughout his neighborhood and the City. He requested that the Police Department's reporting and tracking efforts of the outages be improved. Mayor Pronovost: • No report. Mrs. McPherson: Noted the next Tri -County League of Cities meeting will be held on Thursday, March 15, 2001 at the Tuscawilla Country Club, and hosted by the City of Winter Springs. Noted the Annual Board Appreciation Dinner will be held Friday, March 16, 2001 at the Tuscawilla Country Club beginning at 7:00 p.m. Mrs. Gardner: No report. Mrs. McIntosh: • Reported that a petition for Writ of Certiorari was filed by Rachel's against the City on March 9, 2001, along with a motion for stay in the Certiorari action, and that she had already filed objections to their motion to stay and made a request for oral arguments on that motion. Further noted that she has until March 27, 2001 to file a response to the Writ of Certiorari. • Reported that Judge Nelson's written decision regarding Rachel's motion for temporary injunction should be rendered within a few days. Commission consensus was to grant the City Attorney authority to appeal the matter to the 5th District Court of Appeals should Judge Nelson grant the temporary injunction.
