Due to Ms. Katie <br />Reischmann's upcoming retirement, this letter agreement is to confirm the continued scope and <br />terms of the engagement to represent the City as general legal counsel. The agreement will be <br />effective as of October 1, 2024 and continue indefinitely. <br />Kristin Eick will now have primary responsibility for this representation with support from <br />other Firm attorneys based upon need and expertise. Different lawyers in the Firm maybe involved <br />to provide specialized legal talent and help us do your work more quickly or economically. <br />Our fees will be charged on anhourlybasis, with a current hourly rate of $210 for attorneys, <br />and $90/hour for paralegals, with an automatic increase anauallybased on the Consumer Price Index <br />for the Southeast Region and rounded up or down to the nearest $5.00. Ms. Eick will replace Ms. <br />Reischmann and attend the City Commission meetings and other Firm attorneys will continue to <br />attend meetings of the Planning and Zoning Commission and Code Enforcement Special Magistrate. <br />The Firm will bill monthly, generally soon after the first of each month, for legal services <br />provided in the preceding month. This statement will be due and payable upon receipt by the City. <br />Additional costs for which the City will be responsible will include, but are not limited to, filing fees, <br />deposition costs, courtreporter fees, travel expenses, copying, messenger services, overnight delivery <br />fees, computerized legal research services, and other out-of-pocket expenses. Expenses advanced by <br />the Firm will be on the monthly invoices. <br />Conflicts of Interest <br />The City acknowledges that the Firm provides legal services for many clients, including other <br />governmental entities.
