RESOLUTION 24-3453 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF <br />CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, APPOINTING KRISTIN EICK OF <br />GARGANESE, WEISS, D'AGRESTA & SALZMAN, P.A. AS PRIMARY <br />CITY ATTORNEY; AUTHORIZING AN ENGAGEMENT AGREEMENT <br />FOR LEGAL SERVICES; AND PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS, <br />SEVERABILITY, AND AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />WHEREAS, the City Charter Section 6.01 authorizes the City Commission to appoint a <br />City Attorney; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Attorney shall act as the legal advisor to, and attorney and counselor <br />for, the municipality and all of its officers in matters relating to their official duties; and <br />WHEREAS, Catherine Reischmann has served as City Attorney since approximately <br />2003, initially with Stenstrom, McIntosh, Colbert, Whigham, Reischmann & Partlow, P.A.; and <br />WHEREAS, in June 2006, Ms. Reischmann joined the firm of Brown, Garganese, Weiss, <br />and D'Agresta, P.A. (which later became Garganese, Weiss, D'Agresta & Salzman, P.A.) (the <br />Firm) and received approval by the City Commission to continue to serve as City Attorney; and <br />WHEREAS, Ms. Reischmann has indicated that she will retire as of October 1, 2024; and <br />WHEREAS, the Firm wishes to continue to provide legal services to the City and has <br />proposed that Kristin Eick replace Ms. Reischmann as primary City Attorney; and <br />WHEREAS, Ms. Eick meets the qualifications required for City Attorney as specified in <br />the City Charter. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE <br />CITY OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: <br />SECTION I. The City Commission of the City of Casselberry hereby appoints Kristin <br />Eick of Garganese, Weiss, D'Agresta & Salzman, P.A. as primary City Attorney and authorizes <br />the Mayor to execute the attached City Attorney Engagement Agreement. <br />SECTION II. Conflicts. All Resolutions or parts of Resolution in conflict with any <br />provisions of this Resolution are hereby repealed. <br />SECTION III. Severability. If any Section or portion of a Section of this Resolution <br />proves to be invalid, unlawful, or unconstitutional, it shall not be held to invalidate or impair the <br />validity, force, or effect of any other Section or part of this Resolution. <br />SECTION IV. Effective Date. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon <br />its passage and adoption. <br />
