ORDINANCE 24-1604 <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, <br />AMENDING SECTION 9, EFFECTIVE DATE OF CHARTER <br />AMENDMENTS, OF ORDINANCE 23-1590 TO PROVIDE ALL <br />APPROVED CHARTER AMENDMENTS APPLY TO THE AUGUST 20, <br />2024 ELECTION; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS, SEVERABILITY, <br />EFFECTIVE DATE OF ORDINANCE AND AN EFFECTIVE DATE FOR <br />THE APPROVED AMENDMENTS. <br />WHEREAS, the City adopted Ordinance 23-1590 on December 11, 2023 to propose <br />certain Charter amendments to the voters; and <br />WHEREAS, the City wishes to amend Section 9, Effective Date of Charter Amendments, <br />of Ordinance 23-1590, to state that all Charter amendments, if approved by the electors on August <br />20, 2024, apply to the August 20, 2024 election; and <br />WHEREAS, words with double underlined type shall constitute additions to the original <br />text and strike thfough type shall constitute deletions to the original text, and asterisks (* * *) <br />indicate that text shall remain unchanged from the language existing prior to adoption of this <br />Ordinance. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY <br />OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: <br />SECTION 1. Amendment. Section 9, Effective Date of Charter Amendments of <br />Ordinance 23-1590, is hereby amended to read as follows: <br />X X X <br />Section 9. Effective Date of Charter Amendments/Application. The revised <br />Charter provisions proposed for approval in this Ordinance shall become effective <br />upon their approval at a referendum election of the electors of the City of <br />Casselberry in accordance with Section 166.031, Florida Statutes, and Section <br />11.07 of the City Charter. If the electors reject an amendment, the rejected <br />amendment shall not take effect. The City Clerk is hereby directed, upon adoption <br />of the revised Charter, to renumber the Charter to logically organize all Charter <br />amendments, and to promptly file the revised Charter with the State of Florida, <br />Department of State, as required by Section 166.031, Florida Statutes. The Charter <br />provisions that are approved at the August 20. 2024 election will apply to the <br />August 20, 2024 election and to all future elections. <br />*** <br />SECTION 2. Conflicts.
