RESOLUTION 24-3416 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF <br />CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, DESIGNATING SHARED USE PATHS <br />ASSOCIATED WITH SOUTHCOT DRIVE, SUNSET DRIVE, AND QUAIL <br />POND CIRCLE AS PART OF THE CASSELBERRY GREENWAY TRAIL <br />SYSTEM; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS, SEVERABILITY, AND <br />EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />WHEREAS, the City of Casselberry has set a goal to become the most walkable, rollable, <br />and bikeable City in Central Florida, where active transportation becomes a viable and routine <br />choice for daily mobility needs; and <br />WHEREAS, the Casselberry Greenway Trail has been established as a City Park as <br />reflected in Section 60-2 of the City of Casselberry Code of Ordinances; and <br />WHEREAS, the Casselberry Greenway Trail provides important multimodal connectivity <br />between various parks and other points of interest, as well as a general recreational opportunities to <br />the benefit of public health; and <br />WHEREAS, through use of federal funding and local sales tax funding, the City of <br />Casselberry has recently constructed approximately 1.4 miles of additional shared use paths <br />associated with Southcot Drive, Sunset Drive, and Quail Pond Circle; and <br />WHEREAS, these new shared use paths effectively extend the reach of the Casselberry <br />Greenway Trail from its current terminus at South Triplet Lake Drive near Southcot Drive to Sunset <br />Drive at Button Road. <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE <br />CITY OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: <br />SECTION I. The City Commission of the City of Casselberry hereby designates as part of <br />the Casselberry Greenway Trail the shared use paths along Southcot Drive (from the current <br />Casselberry Greenway Trail terminus at South Triplet Lake Drive to Sunset Drive) and Sunset <br />Drive (from Carriage Hill Drive to Button Road), as well as the shared use path connecting the <br />terminus of Quail Pond Circle to Sunset Drive. <br />SECTION H. Conflicts. All Resolutions or parts of Resolutions in conflict with any of the <br />provisions of this Resolution are hereby repealed. <br />SECTION III. Severability. If any. Section or portion of a Section of this Resolution <br />proves to be invalid, unlawful, or unconstitutional, it shall not be held to invalidate or impair the <br />validity, force, or effect of any other Section or part of this Resolution. <br />
