RESOLUTION 24-3416 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, DESIGNATING SHARED USE PATHS ASSOCIATED WITH SOUTHCOT DRIVE, SUNSET DRIVE, AND QUAIL POND CIRCLE AS PART OF THE CASSELBERRY GREENWAY TRAIL SYSTEM; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS, SEVERABILITY, AND EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City of Casselberry has set a goal to become the most walkable, rollable, and bikeable City in Central Florida, where active transportation becomes a viable and routine choice for daily mobility needs; and WHEREAS, the Casselberry Greenway Trail has been established as a City Park as reflected in Section 60-2 of the City of Casselberry Code of Ordinances; and WHEREAS, the Casselberry Greenway Trail provides important multimodal connectivity between various parks and other points of interest, as well as a general recreational opportunities to the benefit of public health; and WHEREAS, through use of federal funding and local sales tax funding, the City of Casselberry has recently constructed approximately 1.4 miles of additional shared use paths associated with Southcot Drive, Sunset Drive, and Quail Pond Circle; and WHEREAS, these new shared use paths effectively extend the reach of the Casselberry Greenway Trail from its current terminus at South Triplet Lake Drive near Southcot Drive to Sunset Drive at Button Road. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: SECTION I. The City Commission of the City of Casselberry hereby designates as part of the Casselberry Greenway Trail the shared use paths along Southcot Drive (from the current Casselberry Greenway Trail terminus at South Triplet Lake Drive to Sunset Drive) and Sunset Drive (from Carriage Hill Drive to Button Road), as well as the shared use path connecting the terminus of Quail Pond Circle to Sunset Drive. SECTION H. Conflicts. All Resolutions or parts of Resolutions in conflict with any of the provisions of this Resolution are hereby repealed. SECTION III. Severability. If any. Section or portion of a Section of this Resolution proves to be invalid, unlawful, or unconstitutional, it shall not be held to invalidate or impair the validity, force, or effect of any other Section or part of this Resolution.
