RESOLUTION 24-3411 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING THE SUBMISSION OF A SAFE STREETS AND ROADS FOR ALL PLANNING AND DEMONSTRATION GRANT APPLICATION; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS, SEVERABILITY, AND EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City of Casselberry has set a goal to become the most walkable, rollable, and bikeable City in Central Florida, where active transportation becomes a viable and routine choice for daily mobility needs; and WHEREAS, Vision Zero is a data -driven strategy to eliminate all traffic fatalities and severe injuries, while increasing safe, healthy, and equitable mobility for all; and WHEREAS, the City is working to develop a Vision Zero Action Plan; and WHEREAS, the City is also working to create a new transportation master plan referred to as the Mobility and Access Plan; and WHEREAS, the United States Department of Transportation has released a Notice of Funding Opportunity for Planning and Demonstration Grants under the Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) Grant Program; and WHEREAS, City staff has identified potential planning and demonstration activities that will further the City's efforts to achieve a safer and more equitable transportation system; and WHEREAS, the City recognizes the opportunity to leverage local funds to achieve needed planning and demonstration activities through the SS4A Grant Program. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: SECTION I. The City Commission of the City of Casselberry hereby approves and authorizes the submission of a Safe Streets and Roads for All Planning and Demonstration Grant in the amount up to $1,500,000, consisting of federal funds up to $1,200,000 and local match up to $300,000, and authorizes the City Manager to execute required application documents as needed on behalf of the City. SECTION II. Conflicts. All Resolutions or parts of Resolutions in conflict with any of the provisions of this Resolution are hereby repealed. SECTION III. Severability. If any Section or portion of a Section of this Resolution proves to be invalid, unlawful, or unconstitutional, it shall not be held to invalidate or impair the validity, force, or effect of any other Section or part of this Resolution.
