RESOLUTION 24-3408 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF <br />CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, AMENDING AND RESTATING THE <br />EMPLOYMENT AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY AND CITY MANAGER <br />JAMES R. NEWLON; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS, SEVERABILITY, AND <br />EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />WHEREAS, on September 12, 2012, the City Commission approved an Agreement with James <br />R. Newlon to establish the terms and conditions of his employment as City Manager; and <br />WHEREAS, Mr. Newlon has served continuously since that date; and <br />WHEREAS, over the years, certain terms have changed. This has necessitated the updating of <br />the Agreement; and <br />WHEREAS, Mr. Newlon has indicated his willingness to continue to serve as City Manager and <br />the City Commission desires to retain his service; and <br />WHEREAS, the attached amended and restated Employment Agreement embodies the terms <br />and conditions which provide an inducement for Mr. Newlon to continue as City Manager. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY <br />OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: <br />SECTION I. The City Commission of the City of Casselberry hereby authorizes the execution <br />of the attached Employment Agreement with James R. Newlon with an effective date of January 1, <br />2024. The Amended and Restated Agreement provides Mr. Newlon with compensation adjustments <br />consistent with regular employees from this date forward. <br />SECTION II. Conflicts. All Resolutions or parts of Resolutions in conflict with any of the <br />provisions of this Resolution are hereby repealed. <br />SECTION III. Severability. If any Section or portion of a Section of this Resolution proves to be <br />invalid, unlawful, or unconstitutional, it shall not be held to invalidate or impair the validity, force, or effect <br />of any other Section or part of this Resolution. <br />SECTION IV. Effective Date. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its <br />passage and adoption. <br />PASSED and ADOPTED this �i day of �`d r c� , AD 2024. <br />ATTEST: <br />onna G.
