RESOLUTION 23-3392 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF <br />CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE NAMING OF THE <br />CASSELBERRY ARTS CENTER; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS, <br />SEVERABILITY, AND EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />WHEREAS, for the past two and a half decades, the City of Casselberry has established <br />itself as a leader in the arts community with the successes of the Art House, City Hall art exhibits, <br />sculpture garden at Lake Concord, and the Sculpture House; and <br />WHEREAS, the Lake Concord Park/Art House Expansion is one of the six park projects in <br />the City's bond referendum that was approved by Casselberry voters on March 17, 2020; and <br />WHEREAS, the project includes a 3,000 square foot facility that was substantially <br />completed in October 2023; and <br />WHEREAS, a ribbon cutting ceremony scheduled for December 11, 2023 will officially <br />open the facility to the public; and <br />WHEREAS, the new facility will offer a new opportunity to further activate Lake Concord <br />Park by bringing people together through all art forms, including visual, digital, dance, music, <br />theater, film, design, multimedia, and many other hybrid forms; and <br />WHEREAS, naming the facility the Casselberry Arts Center will improve the marketing <br />efforts of the City and further strengthen the identity of the City as a regional destination for arts and <br />culture; and <br />WHEREAS, the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board approved to recommend that the <br />City Commission name the Lake Concord Park/Art House Expansion facility the Casselberry <br />Arts Center during their regular scheduled meeting held on November 14, 2023. <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE <br />CITY OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: <br />SECTION I. The City Commission of the City of Casselberry hereby approves naming the <br />Lake Concord Park/Art House Expansion facility as the Casselberry Arts Center. <br />SECTION II. Conflicts. All Resolutions or parts of Resolutions in conflict with any of the <br />provisions of this Resolution are hereby repealed. <br />SECTION III. Severability. If any Section or portion of a Section of this Resolution <br />proves to be invalid, unlawful, or unconstitutional, it shall not be held to invalidate or impair the <br />validity, force, or effect of any other Section or part of this Resolution. <br />
