RESOLUTION 17-2938 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF <br />CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING THE <br />EXECUTION OF THE 2017-2021 INTER -LOCAL VOLUNTARY <br />COOPERATION OPERATIONAL ASSISTANCE MUTUAL AID <br />AGREEMENT - THE CITY/COUNTY CANINE (K-9) UNIT BETWEEN <br />THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY AND THE CITIES OF ALTAMONTE <br />SPRINGS, APOPKA, LAKE MARY, LONGWOOD, MAITLAND, <br />OVIEDO, SANFORD, WINTER PARK, WINTER SPRINGS, SANFORD <br />AIRPORT AUTHORITY, THE UNIVERSITY OF CENTRAL FLORIDA, <br />AND THE SEMINOLE COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE; PROVIDING <br />FOR CONFLICTS, SEVERABILITY, AND EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />WHEREAS, the City of Casselberry wishes to enter into the 2017-2021 Inter -Local <br />Voluntary Cooperation Operational Assistance Mutual Aid Agreement - The City/County <br />Canine (K-9) Unit with the cities of Altamonte Springs, Apopka, Lake Mary, Longwood, <br />Maitland, Oviedo, Sanford, Winter Park, Winter Springs, Sanford Airport Authority, The <br />University of Central Florida and the Seminole County Sheriff's Office to extend mutual aid in <br />the form of law enforcement services and resources to adequately respond to continuing multi - <br />jurisdictional law enforcement problems, so as to protect the public peace and safety, and <br />preserve the lives and property of the people. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE <br />CITY OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: <br />SECTION I. The City Commission of the City of Casselberry hereby approves the <br />2017-2021 Inter -Local Voluntary Cooperation Operational Assistance Mutual Aid Agreement <br />- The City/County Canine (K-9) Unit (attached as Exhibit A) and authorizes the Mayor to <br />execute said document on behalf of the City. <br />SECTION II. Conflicts. All Resolutions or parts of Resolutions in conflict with <br />any of the provisions ofthis Resolution are hereby repealed. <br />SECTION III. Severability. If any Section or portion of a Section of this Resolution <br />proves to be invalid, unlawful, or unconstitutional, it shall not be held to invalidate or impair <br />the validity, force, or effects of any other Section or part of this Resolution. <br />SECTION IV.
