RESOLUTION 23-3351 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE UPDATE OF THE CASSELBERRY MEMORIAL PARK BENCH PROGRAM; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS, SEVERABILITY, AND EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, several Casselberry residents have expressed the desire to purchase park benches in memory of loved ones; and WHEREAS, City staff explored the idea and identified the Casselberry Memorial Park Bench Program as a viable means to facilitate this request; and WHEREAS, in February 2019, via Resolution 19-3080, the City Commission approved the Memorial Park Bench Program that allows for the purchase of the Victor Stanley Classic Series 6 - foot black bench with a commemorative plaque, shipping/freight, a concrete pad and installation for $2500 per bench; and WHEREAS, the cost per bench with a commemorative plaque, along with shipping/freight, a concrete pad, and installation, has increased significantly; and WHEREAS, the Recreation Division requests an update to the Memorial Park Bench Program to address the cost increase to $3,500 per bench; and WHEREAS, the update will address the cost increase to provide for a bench with a commemorative plaque, freight/delivery, a concrete pad, and installation; and WHEREAS, City staff will continue to work with all applicants to identify available park bench locations throughout the City. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: SECTION I. The City Commission of the City of Casselberry hereby approves the update of the Casselberry Memorial Park Bench Program from the cost of $2,500 per bench to $3,500. SECTION II. Conflicts. All Resolutions or parts of Resolutions in conflict with any of the provisions of this Resolution are hereby repealed. SECTION III. Severability. If any Section or portion of a Section of this Resolution proves to be invalid, unlawful, or unconstitutional, it shall not be held to invalidate or impair the validity, force, or effect of any other Section or part of this Resolution.
