RESOLUTION 23-3351 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF <br />CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE UPDATE OF THE <br />CASSELBERRY MEMORIAL PARK BENCH PROGRAM; PROVIDING <br />FOR CONFLICTS, SEVERABILITY, AND EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />WHEREAS, several Casselberry residents have expressed the desire to purchase park <br />benches in memory of loved ones; and <br />WHEREAS, City staff explored the idea and identified the Casselberry Memorial Park <br />Bench Program as a viable means to facilitate this request; and <br />WHEREAS, in February 2019, via Resolution 19-3080, the City Commission approved the <br />Memorial Park Bench Program that allows for the purchase of the Victor Stanley Classic Series 6 - <br />foot black bench with a commemorative plaque, shipping/freight, a concrete pad and installation for <br />$2500 per bench; and <br />WHEREAS, the cost per bench with a commemorative plaque, along with shipping/freight, <br />a concrete pad, and installation, has increased significantly; and <br />WHEREAS, the Recreation Division requests an update to the Memorial Park Bench <br />Program to address the cost increase to $3,500 per bench; and <br />WHEREAS, the update will address the cost increase to provide for a bench with a <br />commemorative plaque, freight/delivery, a concrete pad, and installation; and <br />WHEREAS, City staff will continue to work with all applicants to identify available <br />park bench locations throughout the City. <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE <br />CITY OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: <br />SECTION I. The City Commission of the City of Casselberry hereby approves the update <br />of the Casselberry Memorial Park Bench Program from the cost of $2,500 per bench to $3,500. <br />SECTION II. Conflicts. All Resolutions or parts of Resolutions in conflict with any of the <br />provisions of this Resolution are hereby repealed. <br />SECTION III. Severability. If any Section or portion of a Section of this Resolution <br />proves to be invalid, unlawful, or unconstitutional, it shall not be held to invalidate or impair the <br />validity, force, or effect of any other Section or part of this Resolution. <br />
