RESOLUTION 22-3342 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF THE MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING WITH THE CITY OF MAITLAND AUTHORIZING BILLING AND COLLECTION OF MAITLAND'S WASTEWATER SERVICE BY THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS, SEVERABILITY, AND AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City of Casselberry Utilities Department provides water services to the general public, and bills and collects all deposits and service charges for same; and WHEREAS, certain customers with water services provided by the City of Casselberry Utilities Department are provided wastewater services by the City of Maitland; and WHEREAS, the cities have determined that by combining the water and wastewater charges on one bill, such customers will benefit from a unified bill provided by the City of Casselberry Utilities Department; and WHEREAS, further, the City of Maitland will benefit by reducing unpaid wastewater bills and the City of Casselberry will benefit by the nominal fee charged to the City of Maitland for the collection service; and WHEREAS, the City of Maitland wastewater charges will be based on reads of water meters owned and read by the City of Casselberry; and WHEREAS, the Memorandum of Understanding between the City of Maitland and the City of Casselberry Utilities Department for the billing of wastewater services clearly identifies the responsibilities of each party for the billing and collection of wastewater payments by the City of Casselberry Utilities Department where the wastewater service is provided by the City of Maitland and the water service is provided by the City of Casselberry. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. That the City Commission of the City of Casselberry hereby approves the Memorandum of Understanding with the City of Maitland, Florida (attached hereto as Exhibit "A"), and authorizes the Mayor to execute said Memorandum of Understanding and any related documents for and on behalf of the City of Casselberry. SECTION 2. Conflicts. All Resolutions or parts of Resolutions in conflict with any of the provisions of this Resolution are hereby repealed.
