p. .-Assist the School's School Safety & Security Director arid the SCHOOI BOARD <br />to address any action which poses a threat to school safety. whether it involves a student, <br />staff member or third party. <br />y. :AotifN7 the School Safety & Security Director of the following: lockdown. use of <br />force that exceeds a routine takedown or redirection. felony arrest on campus, massive <br />school disruption. medical emergency or any event that could cause public concern or <br />attention. <br />1-. .-'although the School Safety & Security Director is cxpccl.cd to perform as the <br />Incident Commander in any critical school-rclated incident, the SRO's CITY supervisor <br />will also be on-site and part of the Unified Cornmand Structure to help ensure that the best <br />interests of the school and law enforecrnent are met. <br />S. The CITY will provide the School Safety & Security Director with immediate <br />notification in writing ofany SRO whose employment with the CITY has been dismissed <br />for misconduct or has otherwise been disciplined as this information must, in turn, be <br />reported by the School District to the Office of Safe Schools immediately after, but no later <br />than 72 hours afterwards, pursuant to Section. 1006.12 (5), Florida Statutes. <br />t. CITY will provide the School & Security Safety Director with immediate <br />notification of any SRO that discharges his or her firearm in the exercise of the safe school <br />officer's duties, other than for training purposes, as this information must, in turn, be <br />reported by the School District to the Office of Safe Schools immediately after, but no later <br />than 72 hours afterward, pursuant to Section 1006.12 (5), Florida. Statutes. <br />U. CITY agrees that the assigned SRO will not effect the arrest of any Seminole <br />County Public School child aged ten or younger without the pre -approval of the CITY's <br />school resource supervisor. In any such circumstance, timely notice must be provided to <br />the School Safety Director. Additionally, the assigned SRO will also comply with the "Kaia <br />Rolle Act" set forth in Section 985.031 F.S. (2021) prohibiting a child younger than seven <br />years of age from being arrested, charged, or adjudicated delinquent for a delinquent act or <br />violation of law, unless the violation of law is a forcible felony as defined in s. 776.08, F.S. <br />CITY agrees that it will adopt a policy consistent with this provision prior to <br />commencement of the school year immediately following the execution of the instant <br />agreement. <br />V. The CITY may, at the CITY's sole expense and discretion, purchase and install <br />one (1) gun safe at any of the schools that are within the CITY's scope of responsibility. <br />The CITTY may arrange .for the installation, during non -instructional hours, of a firearm <br />safe suitable for the storage of an CITY issued rifle for use by the SRO.
