RESOLUTION 22-3315 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, AMENDING RESIDENTIAL SOLID WASTE FEES AND CHARGES AS ESTABLISHED IN RESOLUTION 21-3242 TO INCREASE FEES FOR COLLECTION AND DISPOSAL OF RESIDENTIAL SOLID WASTE; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS, SEVERABILITY, AND AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, City Code section 70-51 provides that solid waste collection rates are to be set by resolution, and are to be reviewed periodically and adjusted based on available data such as current cost paid to the contractor, administrative costs incurred by the City, and costs associated with compliance with state, county and federal environmental regulations; and WHEREAS, the City entered into a franchise agent agreement for residential collection with Waste Pro of Florida, Inc., which expires December 31, 2027; and WHEREAS, Resolution 21-3242 constitutes the most recent changes to rates and charges for residential solid waste collection and disposal services under the Franchise Agreement; and WHEREAS, the City must raise money through charges for services to pay for the provision of said services and the operation of the Solid Waste Special Revenue Fund; and WHEREAS, since the adoption of Resolution 21-3242, unanticipated increases in costs of labor, fuel and other inflationary forces necessitated review and recommendation of adjustments to previously approved rates to ensure solvency of the Solid Waste Fund. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. That the City Commission amends Residential Solid Waste Fees and Charges as established in Resolution 21-3242 to increase fees for residential solid waste collection and disposal. Conflicts. All Resolutions or parts of Resolutions in conflict with any of the provisions of this Resolution, are hereby repealed.
