RESOLUTION 10-2203 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, DESIGNATING NOVEMBER 2010 AS "BE A HERO MONTH" IN THE CITY CASSELBERRY; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. Whereas, Florida's Blood Centers and the Van Duzer Foundation, both not-for- profit entities, are organizing blood drives during the month of November 2010 throughout Seminole County; and Whereas, the Casselberry community requires a reliable blood supply for use in lifesaving medical treatments, and statistics have shown that one pint of blood can help save the lives of three individuals, making the donation of blood a simple way to help save lives and positively impact the community; and Whereas, designating November 2010 as "BE A HERO MONTH" will increase awareness of the critical need for blood donations and celebrates the generosity and gift of life provided by those who volunteer to donate their blood for the sake of other members of our community; and Whereas, the observation of "BE A HERO MONTH" provides an excellent opportunity for residents to work together to save lives in our community. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: SECTION I. That the City Commission of the City of Casselberry hereby designates the month of November 2010 as `Be a Hero Month" in the City of Casselberry and encourages all citizens to donate blood and be a hero for the community. SECTION II. Effective Date. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage and adoption. PASSED and ADOPTED this day of Mooe✓ rn el , 2010. ATTEST: Donna G.
