RESOLUTION 10-2196 <br />"A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA APPROVING AND <br />AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF A PROPOSAL FOR THE STATE CONTRACT <br />PURCHASE OF CARDIAC MONITOR/DEFIBRILLATORS FROM PHYSIO <br />CONTROL; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS, SEVERABILITY AND EFFECTIVE <br />DATE." <br />WHEREAS, the City of Casselberry desires to purchase six (6) Life Pack 15 Cardiac <br />Monitor/Defibrillators from Physio Control in the amount of $199,949.40 to replace aged <br />monitors/defibrillators currently in service within the Fire -Rescue Department; and <br />WHEREAS, the current complement of Physio Life Pack Monitor/Defibrillators <br />(Life Pack 12's) in the Department range in age from five to ten years old and the <br />technology associated with these devices has rapidly advanced over the last ten years; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, several units used by the Department are not even capable of 12 lead <br />ECG interpretations, now the standard of care in cardiac advance life support (ALS) <br />service provision; and <br />WHEREAS, a State of Florida Contract (NASPO 460300) is being utilized for the <br />pricing/acquisition of the monitor/defibrillators, and provides a savings in the amount of <br />$38,478.60; and <br />WHEREAS, the City will also receive a credit for devices being traded in for the <br />new equipment in the amount $17,500.00. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE <br />CITY OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: <br />SECTION I. The City Commission of the City of Casselberry hereby approves the <br />purchase of six Life Pack 15 Cardiac Monitor/Defibrillators from Physio Control in the <br />amount of $199,949.40 and authorizes the Mayor to execute the proposal (attached as Exhibit A) <br />on behalf of the City. <br />SECTION H. Conflicts. All Resolutions or parts of Resolutions in conflict with any of the <br />provisions of this Resolution are hereby repealed. <br />SECTION III. Severability. If any Section or portion of a Section of this Resolution <br />proves to be invalid, unlawful, or unconstitutional, it shall not be held to invalidate or impair the <br />validity, force, or effect of any other Section or part of this Resolution. <br />SECTION IV.
