RESOLUTION 10-2168 <br />"A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, <br />ADOPTING THE TENTATIVE OPERATING MILLAGE RATE FOR <br />THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY FOR THE FISCAL YEAR <br />COMMENCING OCTOBER 1, 2010 AND ENDING SEPTEMBER 30, <br />2011; ANNOUNCING THE PERCENTAGE BY WHICH THE <br />TENTATIVE OPERATING MILLAGE DOES NOT EXCEED THE <br />ROLLED -BACK RATE; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS, <br />SEVERABILITY AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Casselberry must provide public notice <br />of and hold a public hearing on the tentative property tax millage rate pursuant to Florida TRIM <br />statute (F.S. 200.065); and <br />WHEREAS, the public notice for the public hearing for the tentative millage rate was <br />provided to all taxpayers of the City of Casselberry by the Seminole County Property Appraiser <br />in their "TRIM" notice which was mailed out in August 2010; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Casselberry desires to adopt the <br />tentative operating millage rate and publicly announce the percentage change by which the <br />tentative proposed operating millage rate does not exceed the rolled -back rate; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Casselberry deems that this Resolution <br />is in the best interest of the public health, safety, welfare and well-being of the citizens of <br />Casselberry. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION <br />OF THE CITY OF CASSELBERRRY, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS: <br />SECTION I. Tentative Millage Rate. The City Commission adopts its tentative <br />operating millage rate of 5.4500 for the fiscal year commencing October 1, 2010 and ending <br />September 30, 2011. <br />SECTION II. Rolled -Back Rate. The tentative operating millage of 5.4500 set forth in <br />Section I immediately above is a 11.44 percent decrease from the computed rolled -back rate of <br />6.1539 as certified by the Seminole County Property Appraiser. <br />SECTION III. Public Notice. Within fifteen (15) days of the date of this Resolution, <br />the City Clerk shall advertise in a newspaper of general circulation the City's intent to finally <br />adopt the millage rate and shall hold a public hearing to adopt the millage rate not less than two <br />(2) days or more than five (5) days after the date the advertisement is first published. <br />SECTION IV. Conflicts. All Resolutions or parts of Resolutions in conflict with any <br />of the provisions of this Resolution are hereby repealed. <br />
