DRAFT
- Evaluate the looping mains alternative to increase flow and pressure to dead-end
mains (6 -inch and greater) throughout the distribution system.
- Evaluate the need for each of the City's three elevated storage tanks in the
distribution system.
Task 8.4 — CIP Project Identification
REI will:
- Identify the proposed CIP projects based on technically feasible alternatives evaluated
on the findings of the previous sub -task.
- Prepare preliminary estimates of probable cost estimates for financial evaluation.
- Prepare a hydraulic capacity and future conditions analysis summary of this
investigation for the purposes of developing the final Master Plan Report.
Task 8.5 — Fire Flow Analysis Review
REI will:
- Review and update the City's current fire flow analysis requirements, as needed.
- Develop recommendations to improve water distribution system pressure and
available fire flow, as needed.
- Document model results and recommendations in the Water Quality Optimization and
Evaluations section of the Master Plan Report.
Data Required: List of CIP projects, City identified looping areas, City staff availability
Deliverables:
♦ Hydraulic capacity analysis
TASK 9.0 — DISTRIBUTION WATER QUALITY OPTIMIZATION
The calibrated model can be used to optimize the operations of the distribution system,
evaluate alternatives to reduce DBP formation and simulate various valve setting and/or
looping options to minimize water age.
Task 9.1 Pressure Zone and Looping Evaluation
REI will:
- Develop two evaluations scenarios, one pressure zone and one looping scenario, and
provide recommendations to improve chlorine residuals in the selected areas of the
distribution system previously identified by REI.
- Meet with City staff to discuss the alternatives and select a recommended alternative.
The Model scenario setup and operation would be presented for discussion and
Page 8 of 14
