RESOLUTION 10-2112 <br />"A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE <br />EXECUTION OF SUPPLEMENT NO. 1 TO THE AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY <br />OF CASSELBERRY AND J. R. GIESE OPERATIONS (JRGO) FOR CONSTRUCTION <br />ADMINISTRATION/INSPECTION SERVICES FOR THE CASSELBERRY WATER <br />QUALITY IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS, <br />SEVERABILITY, AND EFFECTIVE DATE." <br />WHEREAS, via Resolution 09-2083, the City Commission approved an agreement with JRGO to <br />provide construction administration/inspection services for the City's water quality improvement projects; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, FDEP awarded the City $3M in grant and loans to cover the costs associated with the <br />construction and construction administration/inspection services for the water quality improvement projects; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, the projected costs proposed by the apparent lowest bidder ($2,479,292.75) was lower <br />than the $3M in funding awarded by FDEP; and <br />WHEREAS, FDEP suggested that an additional project was necessary to take advantage of the total <br />funding amount awarded (an estimated remaining balance of $222,607.25—representing the difference <br />between the proposed amount for construction and the funding amount from FDEP); and <br />WHEREAS, Public Works staff identified Project No. 15 (Brittany Circle and Ivanhoe Way) as the <br />most cost-effective job to meet the remaining funding amount; and <br />WHEREAS, the total costs necessary to cover the construction administration/inspection services <br />required for the City's water quality improvement projects, including Project No. 15, is estimated at <br />$323,000; and <br />WHEREAS, in accordance with FDEP's funding agreement, $276,050 is available for construction <br />administration/inspection services; leaving a balance of $46,950 unfunded ($323,000 - $276,050); and <br />WHEREAS, funds to cover the unfunded portion are available in the Public Works Water Line <br />Renewal and Replacement Account (402-0751-536.63-44); and <br />WHEREAS, City staff have reviewed Supplement No. 1 submitted by JRGO and found it adequate <br />to meet the needs of the City. <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF <br />CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: <br />SECTION I. The City Commission of the City of Casselberry hereby approves Supplement No. 1 to <br />the agreement with JRGO for Casselberry's Water Quality Improvement projects, attached as Exhibit "A", <br />and authorizes the Mayor to execute said document(s) on behalf of the City. <br />
