ARTICLE IV. FORM OF GOVERNMENT; CITY COMMISSION <br />[NEW SECTION] <br />Compensation; Expenses. <br />The City Commission may determine the annual salary of the Mayor and Commissioners by <br />ordinance but no ordinance increasing such salary shall become effective until after the next <br />regular City election. The Mayor and Commissioners shall receive their actual and necessary <br />expenses incurred in the performance of their duties of office, in accordance with City policy. <br />City Charter Amendment 5: <br />Shall the City add a new section to the Charter to include a prohibition on Commission members <br />holding other office, or Commission members' involvement in appointment and removal of City <br />employees, and prohibiting Commission members' interference with City administration, <br />previously found only in City Code, while continuing to acknowledge the Commission members' <br />authority to conduct investigations of City affairs? <br />Yes <br />No <br />ARTICLE IV. FORM OF GOVERNMENT; CITY COMMISSION <br />[NEW SECTION] <br />Prohibitions. <br />(a) Holding other Office Except where authorized by law, no Commission member <br />shall hold any other elected public office during the term for which the <br />Commission member was elected. No Commission member shall hold any other <br />City office or City employment during the term for which the Commission <br />member was elected. No former Commission member shall hold anv <br />compensated appointive office or employment with the City until one year after <br />the expiration of the term for which the member was elected to the Commission <br />Nothing in this section shall be construed to prohibit the Commission from <br />selecting any current or former Commission member to represent the City on the <br />governing board of anv regional or other intergovernmental agency. <br />9 <br />Ordinance 08-1239 <br />
