[NEW SECTION] <br />Intergovernmental relations. <br />The City may participate by contract or otherwise with any governmental entity of this state or <br />any other state or states or the United States in the performance of any activity which one or more <br />of such entities has the authority to undertake. <br />City Charter Amendment 3: <br />FORM OF GOVERNMENT; CITY COMMISSION <br />Shall the City amend Article IV, Sections 12 and 13 of the Charter to provide that the Mayor <br />shall have no administrative duties, to provide for the election of a Deputy Mayor, instead of a <br />Vice Mayor, during a City election year, and to eliminate the list of specific powers of the <br />Commission in favor of a more general statement of authority? <br />Yes <br />ARTICLE IV. FORM OF GOVERNMENT; CITY COMMISSION <br />Section 12. Mayor; Deputy Mayor <br />The Mayor shall preside at all meetings of the City Commission, shall be recognized as head of <br />the city government for all ceremonial purposes, by the governor for purposes of military laws, <br />for ser -vice of preeoss execution of contracts, deeds, and other documents— but shall have no <br />administrative duties. The Mayor shall be a member of the City Commission and shall have a <br />vote as a Commissioner on any matters coming before the City Commission. <br />The City Commission shall wally, in a municipal election year, elect from among its members <br />a V4eeDe ut Mayor at the first meeting after . all of the newly elected <br />Commissioners are seated.
