CASSELBERRY CITY COMMISSION <br />Minutes of December 13, 2021 — Regular Meeting <br />Page 2 of 20 <br />3. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE <br />Mayor Henson led the Pledge of Allegiance. <br />4. ROLL CALL <br />The City Clerk called the roll of Elected Officials. All were present with the exception of Vice <br />Mayor/Commissioner Mark Busch and Commissioner Chad Albritton whose Excuses of Absence are <br />included for consideration as part of the Consent Agenda later in the meeting. <br />5. MINUTES <br />No minutes were presented for approval on this agenda. <br />6. PRESENTATIONS/COMMENDATIONS <br />A. Legislative Update by State Representative David Smith <br />State Representative David Smith, District 28, provided an update on House Bill 2307 which is a $500,000 <br />budget appropriation request he has submitted on behalf of the City of Casselberry for the Brightwater <br />Estate. The Bill has to go through two committees, the Infrastructure and Tourism Committee first, and <br />then the full Appropriations Committee. The next legislative session starts on January 11t" and runs through <br />March l It", and Representative Smith felt the bill would be heard and approved by the Infrastructure and <br />Tourism Committee in January and then heard by the final Appropriations Committee in late February or <br />early March. He stated that this project is the type of project the State likes, as most of the money is coming <br />from the City and the City is asking the State to partner with it for a project that will be for the good of the <br />State and the Casselberry community. He added that he had high confidence that the request would get to <br />the finish line, and he would continue to do his best for the citizens of Casselberry. The City Commission <br />expressed appreciation to Representative Smith for the update and all he does for the citizens of Casselberry. <br />7. CONSENT AGENDA <br />Mayor Henson announced that the Agenda had been amended to add Item N — Excuse of Absence for <br />Commissioner Chad Albritton. <br />A. Approval of Legal Services Invoices <br />Introduction: Consideration for approval of the legal services invoices from the City Attorney, City Labor <br />Attorney, and the Code Enforcement Special Magistrate is requested. <br />
