RESOLUTION 21-3280 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF <br />CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, SUNSETTING THE LAKES MANAGEMENT <br />ADVISORY BOARD; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS, SEVERABILITY, <br />AND EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />WHEREAS, the City of Casselberry is committed to protecting its lakes and other natural <br />resources; and <br />WHEREAS, in 2005 via Resolution 05-1558 the Lakes Management Advisory Board <br />(LMAB) was established to advise the City Commission on surface water management related <br />issues and policies, including development of a Lakes Management Plan; and <br />WHEREAS, a Lakes Management Plan was completed with the assistance of the LMAB <br />and incorporated into the 2007 Stormwater, Lakes Management and Water Quality Master Plan; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, lakes management programs were further expanded in the adopted 2017 <br />Stormwater and Lakes Management Master Plan; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Casselberry is currently engaged in a host of projects and ongoing <br />programs designed to improve water- quality, control invasive plants, and protect natural resources; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, in order to provide the most effective use of volunteer citizens and City staff <br />time, the City has determined that a full time, permanent LMAB is no longer necessary but that <br />consideration should be made for reinstating the LMAB or a similar board when planning for the <br />next Stormwater and Lakes Management Master Plan begins in earnest. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE <br />CITY OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: <br />SECTION I. The City Commission of the City of Casselberry hereby approves the <br />sunsetting of the Lakes Management Advisory Board. <br />SECTION II. Conflicts. All Resolutions or parts of Resolutions in conflict with any of the <br />provisions of this Resolution are hereby repealed. <br />SECTION III. Severability. If any Section or portion of a Section of this Resolution <br />proves to be invalid, unlawful, or unconstitutional, it shall not be held to invalidate or impair the <br />validity, force, or effect of any other Section or part of this Resolution. <br />SECTION IV. Effective Date. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon <br />its passage and adoption. <br />PASSED and ADOPTED this 13th day of December, AD 2021. <br />
