RESOLUTION 21-3280 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, SUNSETTING THE LAKES MANAGEMENT ADVISORY BOARD; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS, SEVERABILITY, AND EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City of Casselberry is committed to protecting its lakes and other natural resources; and WHEREAS, in 2005 via Resolution 05-1558 the Lakes Management Advisory Board (LMAB) was established to advise the City Commission on surface water management related issues and policies, including development of a Lakes Management Plan; and WHEREAS, a Lakes Management Plan was completed with the assistance of the LMAB and incorporated into the 2007 Stormwater, Lakes Management and Water Quality Master Plan; and WHEREAS, lakes management programs were further expanded in the adopted 2017 Stormwater and Lakes Management Master Plan; and WHEREAS, the City of Casselberry is currently engaged in a host of projects and ongoing programs designed to improve water- quality, control invasive plants, and protect natural resources; and WHEREAS, in order to provide the most effective use of volunteer citizens and City staff time, the City has determined that a full time, permanent LMAB is no longer necessary but that consideration should be made for reinstating the LMAB or a similar board when planning for the next Stormwater and Lakes Management Master Plan begins in earnest. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: SECTION I. The City Commission of the City of Casselberry hereby approves the sunsetting of the Lakes Management Advisory Board. SECTION II. Conflicts. All Resolutions or parts of Resolutions in conflict with any of the provisions of this Resolution are hereby repealed. SECTION III. Severability. If any Section or portion of a Section of this Resolution proves to be invalid, unlawful, or unconstitutional, it shall not be held to invalidate or impair the validity, force, or effect of any other Section or part of this Resolution. SECTION IV. Effective Date. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage and adoption. PASSED and ADOPTED this 13th day of December, AD 2021.
