The <br />AGENCY will coordinate with SC1100I, B0ARD officials regarding the localion and <br />pla.cernent of any gun safe so such it.erns may be incorporated into the school's security <br />plan. Further, the AGEACY shall have a written policy/procedure on file with the School <br />Safety Director, that at a nrinimurn provides for l.he following: <br />I . SRO shall riot leave their assigned rifle irr the safe overnight; <br />2. SRO will transport the rifle into/otic. of'the school in a rifle case, in a discrete <br />manner on a daily basis; and <br />3. The AGENCY policy will provide that in the event. of an active threat <br />within the assigned school, the SRO will not deviate their direct, path to the active <br />threat to recover the rifle. <br />If either Party determines after this Agreement is terminated or after it expires that <br />it will not enter into an Agreement for the following school year, the AGENCY will <br />remove such gun safes and restore the premises to their original condition within, thirty (30) <br />calendar days .from the notification of termination or by the end of the term of this <br />Agreement, which occurs last, or such items shall become the SCHOOL BOARD's <br />property and SCHOOL BOARD may dispose of the safes as it. sees fit and appropriate. <br />However, the contents of the gun safes shall rernain the property of' AC;;11;NCY and <br />SCHOOI, I30ARD shall return the contents to AGENCY before disposing of the gun <br />safes. <br />W. The AGENCY will ensure assigned SROs are promoting and utilizing any <br />approved school safety technology at the direction of the School Safety Director. <br />5. The SCHOOL BOARD agrees to: <br />a. bund fifty percent (501YO) of' the negotiated rate (averaged personnel. costof' an <br />AGENCY officer) for personn.cl costs, including benefits, but excluding overtime, for one <br />(1) AGENCY personnel assigned to perform services as set. Forth in this Agreement for the <br />twelve-month. period from July 1, 2021 to June 30, 2022. The AGENCYwill provide one <br />SRO at each Seminole County Public School covered by the AGENCY. <br />b. NOT APP LICARLI3. <br />c. Provide the assigned SROs with access to irrfl>rrnation and resources needed to <br />perform the objectives in this Agreement, to include office space, preferably within the <br />public entrance area of the school site, computer access, school staff contact information, <br />and directory information pursuant to SC11001, BOARD Policy 8330.01, if deerned <br />necessary by the SCHOOL, BOARD to address a specific school or safety response <br />identified by SCI1001_.130AIZD or the Principal. <br />7 <br />
