City of Casselberry <br />Parks and Recreation Advisory Board <br />Regular Meeting — December 8, 2020 <br />purchase of the proposed Miracle playground equipment. Board Member Nash seconded the <br />Motion. Motion carried unanimously 3-0. <br />6. Piggyback Purchase and Installation of Equipment -Secret Lake Park <br />Ms. Moore presented information for additional playground equipment selected for Secret Lake <br />Park that is geared towards 2-12 years of age. Based on a past recommendation by the Board, <br />the equipment also includes a shade structure. Board Member Icenhower motioned to <br />recommend that the City Commission approve the Piggyback purchase and installation of <br />equipment for Secret Lake Park. Motion was seconded by Board Member Nash. Motion <br />carried unanimously 3-0. <br />7. Annual Report Review <br />Ms. Moore reported that the Annual Report will be presented to the City Commission at an <br />upcoming meeting. <br />8. Staff Report <br />a) Parks Update <br />Ms. Moore provided an update on renovations at the "Sculpture House". Volunteers from Florida <br />Sculptors Guild, Friends of the Park and Home Depot worked on the house and the mosaic project <br />for the front of the building. The Ball Room floor at the Recreation Center has been refurbished. <br />Quotes for the new wall mirrors are in progress. <br />b) Events Update <br />Ms. Moore mentioned that due to COVID-19, all events were cancelled since March 2020. <br />Holiday lights have been installed at Lake Concord Park for residents to enjoy. The light display <br />will be up until January 5, 2021. The yearly Santa Run is held four evenings this week. The Home <br />Decorating Contest is virtual this year. Online pictures will be posted, and everyone has an <br />opportunity to vote. New Hope for Kids will provide prizes for the contest. <br />Older American's Month was celebrated in May. Currently, all art classes are virtual throughout <br />the year. The new Art House hours are 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. (Monday -Friday). Masks must be <br />worn and only 10 people will be allowed to visit the gallery at one time. <br />9. Board Member Reports: <br />Board Member Callan reported the Kayak group cleaned the shoreline of Lake Concord and it <br />looks great. He said, "Hats off for the lights in Lake Concord Park". <br />
