City of Casselberry <br />Parks & Recreation Advisory Board <br />Regular Meeting — December 10, 2019 <br />Linda Moore, Recreation Manager presented information related to the second and final <br />reading of Ordinance 19-1526 related to the park bond referendum. No further action was <br />requested from the Board. <br />6. Staff Report <br />a. Parks Update <br />Ms. Moore reviewed the updates and improvements of the parks. Lake Concord Park and <br />Promenade at Lake Concord Park, as well as Secret Lake Park were decorated for the holidays. <br />b. Events Update <br />The Santa Run and Tree Lighting Ceremony were recapped by Ms. Moore. She commented on <br />the success and growth of the Tree Lighting Ceremony event. Upcoming events discussed were <br />the Holiday Boutique and Art & Music in the Park and The Food Truck Bazaar event on <br />December 13th and the New Hope for Kids Bicycle Ride on December 14th. Ms. Moore added <br />that New Hope for Kids sponsored the Decorating Contest which would be judged that evening. <br />In arts and culture, the National Arts Program and the annual Rotary Calendar were reviewed. <br />Ms. Moore informed the Board of The Florida Wax Group show in the Art House, the reception <br />was Friday December 13th, during the Art & Music in the Park and The Food Truck Bazaar <br />event. Resident artist Marla E also hosted a children's workshop during the event. <br />7. Board Member Reports: <br />Board Member Kinsey Lallathin reported positive feedback on the Santa Run, adding that the <br />website and Facebook were very helpful for tracking the route. She also said the lights at Lake <br />Concord Park are a destination and had encouraged many people to come visit. <br />Board Member Katy Farmer echoed Ms. Lallathin's comments about the Santa Run, stating four <br />generations of her family watched together. She added that Tree Lighting was terrific, and she <br />observed lots of families in attendance having a great time. <br />Board Member Courtney Icenhower had additional discussion regarding Tree Lighting and <br />remarked that Lake Concord Park looked phenomenal and "welcomes people to our City" in a <br />unique and beautiful way. <br />
