CASSELBERRY CITY COMMISSION
Minutes of July 14, 2014 —Regular Meeting
Page 15 of 15
it may be possible to have the repairs and replacement paid for by agency responsible for the
flyover project.
No one else came forward. Mayor Glancy closed the public hearing relative to Resolution 14-2628.
MOTION: Vice Mayor Hufford moved to approve Resolution 14-2628, as presented.
Motion was seconded by Commissioner Solomon.
Discussion: Commissioner Solomon stated she was glad the project and the assessment were moving forward,
noting that a similar project and assessment for a wall in the Summerset community had been very successful.
She stated that the assessment was well worth the improvement to property values resulting from the
construction of the wall. Vice Mayor Hufford clarified that the special assessment was actually not a tax, and
would be paid by only those affected by the improvements, not the rest of the community. Mayor Glancy
added that she felt the project was a win-win situation for the community and appreciated the homeowners'
willingness to split the cost of the improvements. She added that the City would do what it could to expedite
the process.
Motion carried unanimously by voice vote 3-0.
18. ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business, Mayor Glancy adjourned the meeting at 5:18 p.m.
DATE MINUTES APPROVED BY CITY COMMISSION: 7—
ATTEST: —
ATTEST:
Donna G.
