CASSELBERRY CITY COMMISSION
Minutes of April 26, 2021 — Regular Meeting
Page 7 of 8
12. OTHER ITEMS
No items were presented for consideration on this agenda.
13. CITIZENS' COMMENTS
Vice Mayor Busch announced persons that wished to make comment or make inquiry on any matter not on
the agenda, may request to be recognized during Citizens' Comments. No one came forward.
14. CITY MANAGER'S REPORT
A. Procurement Information Report for the Period March 1 2021 through March 31
2021
Mr. Newlon advised that the Procurement Information Report for the month of March 2021 was contained
in the Commissioners' agenda packets for review. He noted that the report contained information about
minor contracts that were issued under delegated authority of staff during this period.
Mr. Newlon gave a brief update on the proposed purchase of the Brightwater property, stating
that at the City Commission's direction a letter of intent had been re -issued and submitted to
the Estate of John Casselberry with the same terms that had been offered previously and a
counter proposal had been submitted by the Estate. The original offer had been $1.2 million
with an installment loan to be paid back over two years, and the counter proposal was for
$1,250,000 with an installment loan to be paid back over two years, so it was roughly the same
terms. He explained that the counter proposal had been received over the past weekend and
he, the City Attorney, and the City's consultant were reviewing the offer to determine if it was
something they could recommend and bring to the City Commission at a future meeting for its
consideration.
15. CITY ATTORNEY'S REPORT
City Attorney Reischmann noted that Governor DeSantis was supposed to decide whether to extend the
State of Emergency, but she had not yet heard if that had happened. She also advised she would be bringing
a legislative update to the City Commission soon but preferred to wait until the Governor's decision and
whatever changes might be made were signed into law.
16. CITY CLERK'S REPORT
No report.
