CITY OF CASSELBERRY CITY TREE ADVISORY COMMITTEE (CTAC) The City of Casselberry City Tree Advisory Committee held a meeting on Wednesday, April 16, 2019, at 4:30 P.M. in the Casselberry City Hall, Commission Chambers, 95 Triplet Lake Drive, Casselberry, Florida. Members present: Kelly Brock Dean Fathelbab Chuck Smith Mark Gisclar Steve Spencer Members absent: Jane Dai Emily Hanna First Item of Business: Call to Order/Roll Call. The meeting was called to order by Mr. Fathelbab at 4:34 p.m. Roll was called; a quorum was present. Second Item of Business: Adopt -A -Tree Program is Open. The Committee recognized that the adopt -a -tree program opened for applications at the beginning of April. Additional discussion about members Mr. Fathelbab and Ms. Dai tabling at the upcoming Earthfest event to promote the program and hand out applications. Further discussion about final approval of the awarded trees, the Committee agreed that final approval shall be provided by the City Commission after a recommendation from the CTAC. Third Item of Business: Tree Bank Payment Alternative. Mr. Fathelbab informed the committee that the tree bank alternate payment amount as referenced in Section of 3-14.7.G has not been updated or adjusted as required by code. Based on various vendor pricing lists, the committee affirmed that the current wholesale market value for a 3 inch caliper, canopy tree (as required by the landscape code) to be approximately $350. The Committee approved this price as the 2019 alternate tree bank payment amount. Fourth Item of Business: Other Business. Mr. Brock informed the committee about the Lake Kathryn complete street improvements and potential changes to the design to accommodate a larger pedestrian sidewalk and more landscaping and tree plantings.
