Community Redevelopment Agency Minutes <br />November 18, 2019 <br />Page 3of3 <br />A brief discussion ensued regarding a restaurant in Apopka that is interested in relocating to the City. Mr. <br />Newlon explained that he was not sure the City could help with impact fees but the City is working on a Grease Trap <br />Installation Incentive Program. He said that program could assist with the capital costs. <br />Ms. Hanna said she would provide a memo summarizing today's discussion at the December meeting. She <br />said an action plan for each project identified in today's workshop would be provided at the January meeting. <br />Fourth Item of Business: Other Business. <br />Mr. Randy Newlon, City Manager, explained that the CRA authorized and expended nearly $1 million for the <br />purchase of additional land for parking to support Lake Concord Park. The City filed a lawsuit under eminent domain <br />to seek possession of the Chan property. He said the City owns the property; however, the cost to acquire the <br />property has not been finalized. Mr. Newlon said that the majority of the $1 million has been consumed. Mr. Newlon <br />requested the CRA consider committing an additional $200,000 so that the City and staff can pursue a settlement <br />with Mrs. Chan hopefully in advance of going to trial. <br />It was the consensus of the Board to commit $200,000 for the Chan property expenses. <br />Fifth Item of Business: Public Comments. <br />There were no public comments. <br />Sixth Item: Adjournment. <br />There being no further business to come before the Board, Ms. Glancy adjourned the meeting at 4:54 p.m. <br />DATE MINUTES APPROVED BY COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY. _?
