CASSELBERRY CITY COMMISSION <br />Minutes of September 14, 2020 —special Meeting <br />Page 2 of 4 <br />Staff Presentation: City Clerk Donna Gardner stated that pursuant to City Charter Section 7.08 the City <br />Commission was requested to confirm the official results of the August 18, 2020 City Election as certified by <br />the Seminole County Canvassing Board and to certify Dave Henson as elected to Mayor/Commission Seat <br />No. 5. She advised that also in accordance with City Charter Section 7.08, since no candidate received 50% <br />plus one of the votes cast for Seat No. 4, the two candidates receiving the highest number of votes, which <br />were Bill Hufford and Chad Albritton, would be participating in a run-off election to be held concurrently <br />with the General Election on November 3, 2020. <br />City Commission Seat #4 <br />Chad Albritton <br />Bill Hufford <br />Dee Smith <br />TOTAL VOTES CAST <br />Mayor/Commission Seat #5 <br />Dave Henson <br />Sharon LaCrosse <br />TOTAL VOTES CAST <br />1,416 Votes (32.98%) <br />1,762 Votes (41.03 %) <br />1,116 Votes (25.99%) <br />4,294 Votes <br />2,522 Votes (59.54%) <br />1,714 Votes (40.46 %) <br />4,236 Votes <br />MOTION: Commissioner Aramendia moved to confirm the August 18, 2020 City Election <br />results and certify Dave Henson as elected to Mayor/Commission Seat No. 5. <br />Motion was seconded by Vice Mayor Hufford. Motioned carried unanimously <br />by voice vote 5-0. <br />4. SEATING OF NEWLY ELECTED OFFICIAL <br />A. Oath of Office — Mayor/Commissioner Seat No. 5 — David Henson <br />The following oath was administered to David Henson by the City Attorney: <br />"I, David Henson, do solemnly swear that I will support, protect, and defend the Constitution and <br />Government of the United States and of the State of Florida; and the Charter and Ordinances of the City of <br />Casselberry; and that I am duly qualified to hold office under the Constitution of the State; and that I will well <br />and faithfully perform the duties of Mayor/Commissioner of the City of Casselberry, Florida, on which I am <br />about to enter, so help me God." <br />The Oath, as administered, was signed by Mayor/Commissioner Henson and affirmed by the City Attorney <br />and is attached to and made a part of these minutes. <br />
