RESOLUTION 20-3199 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, ADOPTING THE FINAL MILLAGE RATE FOR THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY FOR THE FISCAL YEAR COMMENCING OCTOBER 1, 2020 AND ENDING SEPTEMBER 30, 2021; ANNOUNCING THE ROLLED -BACK MILLAGE RATE, THE PERCENTAGE BY WHICH THE MILLAGE EXCEEDS THE ROLLED - BACK RATE AND THE FINAL MILLAGE RATE TO BE LEVIED; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS, SEVERABILITY AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Casselberry held an initial public hearing as required by Florida Statute 200.065 on the tentative millage rate on September 14, 2020; and WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Casselberry has determined that a tax levy of 2.9990 mills should be levied on all taxable real and personal property in the City of Casselberry, Florida for Fiscal Year 2020-2021; and WHEREAS, the gross taxable value for operating purposes not exempt from taxation within the City of Casselberry has been certified by the Seminole County Property Appraiser to be $1,739,291,583; and WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Casselberry desires to adopt the final millage rate and publicly announce the percentage change by which the final millage rate exceeds the rolled -back rate; and WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Casselberry deems that this Resolution is in the best interest of the public health, safety, welfare and well-being of the citizens of Casselberry. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CASSELBERRRY, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS: SECTION I. Rolled -Back Rate. The City Commission announces that the computed rolled -back rate is 2.8676 mills as certified by the Seminole County Property Appraiser. SECTION II. Percentage Increase. The City Commission announces that the percentage increase over the rolled -back rate set forth in Section I immediately above is a 4.58 percent increase. SECTION III. Final Millage Rate. The City Commission adopts its final millage rate of 2.9990 mills for the Fiscal Year commencing October 1, 2020 and ending September 30, 2021.
