RESOLUTION 20-3178 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF AN AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY AND THE SCHOOL BOARD OF SEMINOLE COUNTY FOR SERVICES OF A SCHOOL RESOURCE OFFICER FOR THE 2020-2021 SCHOOL YEAR; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS, SEVERABILITY AND EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the School Board of Seminole County has requested, and the City of Casselberry agrees to provide, law enforcement personnel to perform the duties and responsibilities of a School Resource Officer at South Seminole Academy; and WHEREAS, the City of Casselberry wishes to enter into an agreement with the School Board of Seminole County for services of a School Resource Officer commencing on July 1, 2020 and continuing through June 30, 2021; and WHEREAS, said Agreement provides for the City of Casselberry and the School Board of Seminole County Board to fund the salary costs of the School Resource Officer with the School Board of Seminole County compensating the City of Casselberry the sum of $45,308.00 in four (4) equal payments of $11,307.00 beginning on August 15, 2020. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS: SECTION I. The City Commission hereby approves the Agreement and duties of the School Resource Officer for the 2020-2021 school year between the City of Casselberry and the School Board of Seminole County, attached hereto, and authorizes the Mayor to execute said Agreement for and on behalf of the City of Casselberry. SECTION II. Conflicts. All Resolutions of parts of Resolutions in conflict with any of the provisions of this Resolution are hereby repealed. SECTION III. Severability. If any section of portion of this Resolution proves to be invalid, unlawful, or unconstitutional, it shall not be held to invalidate or impair the validity, force, effects of any other Section or part of this Resolution. SECTION IV. Effective Date. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon passage and adoption.
