RESOLUTION 20-3181 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE NO -COST TIME EXTENSIONS AS NEEDED TO THE LOCAL AGENCY PROGRAM AGREEMENT WITH THE STATE OF FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF CASSELBERRY ELEMENTARY/QUEENS MIRROR CIRCLE PEDESTRIAN CROSSING IMPROVEMENTS; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS, SEVERABILITY, AND EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City of Casselberry is committed to making its community safer and more comfortable for people walking of all ages and abilities; and WHEREAS, in 2013 the City submitted a Florida Safe Routes to School application to receive funding for proposed pedestrian safety improvements to Queens Mirror Circle in the vicinity of South Lost Lake Lane to benefit people walking, especially students of Casselberry Elementary; and WHEREAS, the proposed improvements were programmed in the State of Florida Department of Transportation's (FDOT's) Work Program for State Fiscal Year 2019-2020; and WHEREAS, the City has locally funded and completed the design of the proposed improvements; and WHEREAS, on August 26, 2019 via Resolution 19-3116, the City Commission approved a Local Agency Program (LAP) Agreement with FDOT in order to construct the project using federal funds; and WHEREAS, the City and FDOT have determined one or more no -cost time extensions to the LAP Agreement will be necessary to allow time to successfully bid and build the project. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: SECTION I. The City Commission of the City of Casselberry hereby approves and authorizes the City Manager to execute on behalf of the City no -cost time extensions as needed to the Local Agency Program Agreement with the State of Florida Department of Transportation for the construction of the Casselberry Elementary/Queens Mirror Circle Pedestrian Crossing Improvements. SECTION II. Conflicts. All Resolutions or parts of Resolutions in conflict with any of the provisions of this Resolution are hereby repealed.
