CASSELBERRY CITY COMMISSION <br />Minutes of March 27, 2019 — Joint Workshop <br />Page 5 of 5 <br />for design of truly multi -modal streets; effect of weather on walkability and considerations for weather and <br />topographical elements of terrain when designing for walkability; need for incorporating bike parking in <br />walkable/bikeable street design; road diets (right -sizing); design of pedestrian/bicycle crossings; need for <br />zoning specifically for design of walkable/bikeable residential/commercial developments; advantages of <br />roundabouts, including safety, cost effectiveness, minimal long-term maintenance, and smooth traffic flow <br />(even during power outages); and potential for bike -sharing; <br />All members of the City Commission and the Planning & Zoning Board present expressed appreciation to Mr. <br />Fenton for the presentation and all the information he presented for options to make the City of Casselberry a <br />more walkable, bikeable, and healthier city. <br />5. CITIZENS' COMMENTS <br />The following individual came forward: <br />Mr. Dale Christensen, 1080 Crystal Bowl Circle, expressed support for the initiatives <br />presented by Mr. Fenton, stating he felt the implementation of those types of initiatives were <br />massively important to the survival and success of the City of Casselberry. He thanked Mr. <br />Fenton for bringing his expertise and insight on these issues to the City's attention. <br />No one else came forward. <br />6.
