CITY COMMISSIONERS' REPORTS/COMMENTS
Commissioner Anthony Aramendia - Seat No. 1:
• Attended the Seminole Cultural Arts Council Taste of the Arts Charity Gala on Saturday,
February 8"', noting this was the event at which two years ago the City of Casselberry received
the HeART for the Arts award. He advised that the recipient of the award this year was
Seminole State College.
Commissioner Andrew Meadows - Seat No. 2:
No report.
Commissioner Mark Busch - Seat No. 3:
No report.
Vice Mayor Bill Hufford — Seat No. 4:
Commented that the City was now in the phase at which communication is critical regarding
the upcoming bond referendum and stated the following: the informational brochure was great;
he liked the calculator feature on the referendum website; and he agreed that the Open House
events were a good format for informing the public, but stressed it was important that all the
information given and responses to questions from the public be communicated accurately. He
also felt that the information should include estimates of ongoing costs, as he felt this was a
question people would have, and Mr. Newlon agreed that information should be added to the
City's website. In response to questions, Mr. Newlon advised that his expectation was that the
approximately $24 million in bonds would be issued gradually over a number of years, and the
calculator on the website depicted the most conservative presentation available of what that
would look like as far as millage rate impact. Mr. Newlon also advised that invitations had
gone out to private organizations such as homeowners' associations and civic organizations to
have City staff present information about the referendum and proposed parks improvements.
