CASSCLBCRRY CITY COMMISSION <br />Minutes of August 26, 2019 — Regular Meeting <br />Page 20 of 20 <br />Commissioner Bill Hufford — Seat No. 4: <br />No report but requested that those who attended the Florida League of Cities conference share any specific <br />takeaways or information they gained from the conference that would benefit the City. <br />Commissioner Busch shared information from two breakout sessions he felt were especially enlightening, <br />one relating to ADA (Americans With Disabilities Act) compliance, and one on emergency funding and <br />insurance. <br />Vice Mayor Anthony Aramendia - Seat No. 1: <br />Also attended the session on emergency funding and insurance at the Florida League of Cities <br />Conference where some cities had shared their experiences in recovering from storm related <br />damages. He added that Altamonte Springs City Manager Frank Martz led a session on how <br />his city incentivizes its employees to think outside the box and share innovative ideas that can <br />be put in place by the City to accomplish goals more efficiently. Also, they are working to <br />expand their utility services, are currently debt -free, and hope to reach a point after expanding <br />utility service where they no longer must assess ad valorem taxes on their residents. <br />Mayor Glancy — Seat No. 5: <br />No report. <br />18.
